It’s Not Always About You

My relationship with myself is paramount.

I playfully sent a message to an old acquaintance, teasing him about his Instagram story. To my astonishment, he erupted, chastising me for my jest and for not greeting him with a "Good Morning" first. His tirade unfolded, listing all the things I could have said instead. I stood there, utterly baffled and speechless.

The transformative magic of pausing before responding has graced my life immensely. The former Erin would have rushed to defend herself, eager to clarify her intentions and desperate for his approval. She was the savior, the martyr, craving validation from others to feel whole.

But that woman no longer resides within me, and what a blessing it is! I can embrace my authentic self without apology, for I am grounded in my intentions. No longer do I seek the approval of others; my relationship with myself is paramount.

While we could explore the myriad reasons behind his reaction, it ultimately holds no significance. This experience serves as a gentle reminder that the actions of others are rarely reflections of us; they stem from their own inner turmoil. I sent him well wishes and expressed gratitude to the Creator for this poignant lesson.

Some souls may find it challenging to embrace your radiant light, and as your happiness flourishes, it may not always be received warmly. Recognizing this truth is a precious gift. Regardless of the circumstances, all is well, and all is a creation of the Divine. Each blessing we encounter, especially in navigating difficult moments, allows us to elevate our spirits and consciousness. I am truly grateful for the chance to continue my journey of growth and self-improvement.

And indeed, I sincerely wish him well!
